Adrian was originally a selkie living out his life happily as a seal. However, one day when he came onto land to comfort a young lady, a fisherman came and took his seal skin as a prize. The fisherman remained unaware that this was in fact a selkie's skin and ,without it, Adrian couldn't return to the sea.Adrian roamed the land, and began to live with the young lady who turned out to be the fisherman's daughter. He would often visit the board walk to be near his home that was so close, but so far away.

The fisherman soon found out about Adrian's identity, and locked away Adrian's seal skin to avoid him leaving and breaking his daughter's heart. One day, Adrian found out about Asgard Academiae. He wanted so badly to go there and learn about his abilities as a selkie, since he hadn't learned very much being with humans. However, he felt he couldn't leave; he needed to get his skin back. Finding out that the fisherman kept his skin in the locked chest, Adrian stole the chest and left in the night. He refused to be a caged animal for the pleasures of humans.He arrived at Asgard Academiae a few weeks after this.
